Dr. Sharon Kaye Hardeman-Coulter, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, revered educator, researcher & child of the living God departed this life peacefully, surrounded by family on January 2, 2019. She was born on August 2, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the parentage of Dr. S. E. & Mrs. Willie Mae Hardeman. Reared in the Baptist tradition, Sharon committed her life to Christ as a child. She was baptized by the late Reverend Albert Emmitt Chew, Jr. She was a life member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, a charter member of the Christian Heralds Choir & a faithful member of the Announcement Committee. As a young child, she was active in Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, Spotlight on Youth & Vacation Bible School. During her formative years, she attended Kirkpatrick Elementary/Junior High School & graduated from North Side High School. After graduating from high school, she attended & graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She received her Masters Degree & Ph.D. from Texas Christian University at age 27. For 32 years, she served the local community at Fort Worth ISD, serving in Research, the Bond Program, Efficacy and Advocacy. Her most cherished mentor was Mr. Walter Dansby. She achieved a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do from Min Hur's Prime Tae Kwon Do Academy. She held memberships in AERA & was a Life Member of the NAACP. She will long be loved & remembered by her church family, many classmates, friends & especially her childhood friend & "sister" Brenda Chew-Jordan as a deeply compassionate person.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Dr. S.E. Hardeman, Jr.. She is survived by a devoted husband, Ronald Coulter, of 29 years; son-Ethan; daughter-Sheree; mother-Willie Mae Hardeman; mother-in-law-Delores Powers of Little Rock, AR; sisters-in-law Milrita of Atlanta, Ga & Carol of San Angelo, Texas; brothers-in-law Lee Coulter, Gerald Coulter & Danny Lewis of Little Rock, AR; aunt Mary Hill of Cheverly, MD; many cousins, nieces & nephews.
