Ronald G. French 73, of Cline Drive, passed away on January 8, 2019 at Champlain Valley Hospital in Plattsburgh. Friends and family may be received on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Internment will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery.

Ron was born on April 11, 1945 in Massena, the son of Harvey and Mary (Delosh) French. He graduated from Massena High School and entered the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam where he was honorably discharged after two years of service. He married Alida M. Richards Dufrane on September 3, 1970 at Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. French predeceased him in 1997. Ron was employed at New York State Power Authority, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy!, traveling and being outdoors.

Ron is survived by two grandchildren, Aryssa Arquette and husband Nicholas Steenkamer of Canton, Cody and Tiffany Arquette of Guam; three step-children, Yvonne and Dennis McLaughlin of Brasher, Tammy and John Carrier of Houston, TX and Shirley Dufrane of Waterbury; four step-grandchildren; a brother, Lee French of Elmira. He was predeceased by his daughter, Darcie Arquette and a brother Richard French.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
