Alex Jacob Doss “AJ”, 14, of Cedar Point, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center while surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Civic Center.

He was born on May 21, 2004, at Carteret General Hospital, the son of Sean and Jennifer Doss. He attended Marine and Science Technologies Early College High School (MaST).

AJ was a member of the Order of the Eagle of the Boy Scouts of America, a Captain Boatsman, avid hunter, fisherman and ATV’er. He loved the outdoors and could always be found there in his spare time. AJ was a young man who willingly helped anyone in need and touched everyone who met him with his loving kindness and generosity. AJ was a member of the Croatan High School Junior Varsity Football Team during the 2018 season and played at the position of running back and defensive end.

Alex is survived by his parents, Sean and Jennifer Doss; his brother, Hunter Doss of the home. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Sarah and Wayne Paul and Glenn Wiggs; his paternal grandfather, Bernd Doss and partner Ann Swindell. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Scot Doss and paternal grandmother, Rita Doss.
