Obituary
The melancholy duty devolves upon us of recording one of the most distressing accidents that has ever occurred amongst us. On Friday last, the team of WILLIAM EVERHART, Esq. was returning from the Valley, the waggon loaded with iron and white sand for his new building; as it was descending the little hill near the West Chester and Philadelphia road, within the Borough, the horses took fright and suddenly started, when ISAIAH FAWKES EVERHART, eldest son of Mr. E. who had accompanied the driver, sprang with manly spirit, and seized the bridle of the horse nearest him; but his effort to stop them was ineffectual - they dashed forward - threw him to the ground, and the wheels passed over his body and killed him almost instantly. The deceased was 15 years of age, and remarkably sprightly, intelligent and promising; - beloved by everybody, and we need not say how dearly his parents, for whose distressing bereavement there is universal sympathy. On Saturday evening at 5 o'clock, his remains were committed to the earth, the occasion drawing together an unusual concourse of mourning relatives, friends and neighbors.
