Roger Lee Doty, Sr., 68, of Alum Creek, formerly of Man, departed this life on Friday, January 11, 2019, at CAMC-General Division, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born July 21, 1950, at Man, a son of the late Alfred Lee and Beulah Delores Copley Doty.
Roger was a 1968 graduate of Man High School. After graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea for two years. Roger returned to Logan County where he went to work as a coal miner and started a family. He was a member of UMWA District 17. Devoted to his family, his passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roger will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Amanda Doty (Stacey) Hager of Charleston; one son, Roger Lee Doty, Jr. of Alum Creek; three grandchildren, Cashel Huxley Hager, Cormac Flynn Hager, and Jase Zaden Doty; and one brother, Bruce (Ramona) Doty of Kistler; along with a host of extended family.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2018, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made a charity of your choice.
