Ann Whitesides, 94, was called home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 13, 2019. Ann was born and raised in Canyon, Texas and attended WT and UCLA. She received her BS, focused in teaching art in 1945. She then attended The University of Colorado Boulder graduate classes in 1946-1947 for her Master of Fine Art. She began teaching in Spearman, then Amarillo and finally Borger after marrying Francis Whitesides, Optometrist, where they lived happily for more than 60 years. She attended First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Ann was an active member of Las Amigas Club, who honored her as Woman of the year in 1995. She was also a member of Borger Stamp Club and had her "Love Stamps" display voted most popular in the 1992 Exposition.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Mack Gillham, mother, Mattie Gillham and brothers, Bill and Dan Gillham.
Ann is survived by her husband, Francis Whitesides, daughter, Patsy Whitesides King, grandson CW2, Michael Mears and wife Kat, granddaughter Darcy Stiner and husband Dustin, and three great grandchildren, Jayden and Jexon Mears, and Dylan Stiner. No services are scheduled.
