Billy Ray Dodgen, age 88, of Pigeon Forge went to be with the Lord on his birthday, Friday January 11th, 2019.

Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pigeon Forge.

He was a loving husband of 62 years and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He showed so much love through his gentle acts of kindness, larger acts of sacrifice, and fierce devotion. His modesty and humility were truly genuine and his love for his family was everything. You honestly could not ask for a better man.

Ray served in the active military, was a store manager with IGA for 26 years, and after retiring worked part-time with Food City for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Zettie Dodgen; his brothers, Lee and Joe Dodgen; his sisters, Edith Hippensteal, Ethel Whaley, and Mae Manning.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Dodgen; his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Sandra Dodgen; his son, Randy Dodgen; his grandchildren, Whitney and Logan Blaylock and Lindsay and Corey Whitted; great-grandchildren, Landon, Brantley, Brody, and Jaxon; his sister, Ola Moyers and several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the First Baptist Pigeon Forge Youth Department PO Box 98 Pigeon Forge, TN 37868 or The Parkinson's Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Tuesday, January 15th in the funeral home with service to follow at 7PM with Rev. Wayne Cook and Rev. Ernie Coleman officiating. Interment will be 11AM Wednesday January 16th in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
