Reno Faye Hobbs Shoemaker of Beattyville, Kentucky widow of the late, Courtney Shoemaker, departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Barker Hobbs born at Fincastle, Lee County, Kentucky on August 29, 1926. She was a homemaker and loving mother. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Shoemaker Sr., Daniel (Ellen) Shoemaker and James (Barbara) Shoemaker all of Beattyville, Kentucky; five daughters, Bonnie Best, Naomi Moore and Ann Best all of Beattyville, Kentucky, Dorothy (Larry) Osborne and Opal (Terry) Smith both of Newport, Kentucky and five sisters, Jo Combs of Indiana, Kentucky, Shannon Cox Kincaid and Margaret Drake both of Beattyville, Kentucky, Mable Miller and Elieen Cable both of Xenia, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtney Shoemaker; two daughters, Bethel Mays and Lena Ray Shoemaker; her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Barker Hobbs and four brothers, Marvin Hobbs, Finley "Heavy" Hobbs, John Hobbs and Lyle Hobbs. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
