Jesse J Calvin died unexpectedly Thursday June 17 1971 at the age of 79 years. He was in failing health
the past year.
Mr Calvin was born January 24 1892 in the Labadie community. He was baptized, confirmed and recieved
his education at Pacific Mo.
May 4 1915 he was married to Clara A Glavin. The couple resided in Labadie. They had six children, five
of whom he leaves to survive. In 1936 Mr and Mrs Calvin established a home in Washington. Mr Calvin was
employed by Shell Oil Company until his retirement. He was a member of St Francis Borgia church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Cadet Jesse Edward Calvin March 26 1944, one sister, four
brothers, two sons in law, Orville Wagner and Hadley Holt.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Clars A Calvin; three daughters, Mrs Lucille Wagner, Mrs Robert Vossbrink
and Mrs Roland Heller all of Washington; two sons, James of California and Leland of Washington; two
daughters in law; two sosn in law; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Calvin
Pacific Mo; sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday June 21 at 9:30 am at the Nieburg-Vitt funeral home, and a 10 am.
Requiem Mass was said at St Francis Borgia church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
