"Christian Christopher Cline and wife Margaret Abott Cline with their seven sons brought the first cattle into Tonto Basin in 1876. This ranching industry has come down to the seventh generation."
"...the elder Clines divided their Tonto Basin holdings among their children and moved to Phoenix. They invested in Buckeye acreage and land in Phoenix. In August of 1898 they were retuning to Tonto to visit their kinfolks. Their route was on the old, rutted military Reno Road. In a one-vehicle acident, their buggy overturned, injuring both. They died that summer."
Two of Christian and Margaret's children are not listed below. It is unknown where they are buried. They are:
Adalade Cline b. 1840 in Mercer County, Ill
d. 1850 in Alameda, CA
Ellen Jennie "Jane" Cline b. 1843 in Mercer County, Ill
d. 1908 in Galveston, TX
