Lettie Lodicy Smith (Dicy) Cleverly, a gracious lady, passed away May 27, 2007 in a Meridian, Idaho, care center. She was born July 6, 1914 in Granger, Utah, the daughter of Manasseh Smith Jr. and Caroline Iown Barton Smith. She was the youngest of nine children. Her mother passed away when she was six years old. This had a profound effect on her life. Her early years were spent being raised by her father and spending time with her older siblings. She was a graduate of Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah. On Oct. 11, 1933, she was married to Clyde Dennis Cleverly in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their union was one of devotion and happiness. They spent 65 wonderful years together, a relationship that is eternal. After many years living in the Salt Lake City area they moved to Boise, Idaho in 1994 to be closer to family members. Dicy was the epitome of a loving, caring person. This led to her to be given the title, "The World's Greatest Worrier." She worried about the well being of every person with whom she made an acquaintance. Dicy was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. She did her best to make sure all around her were well fed. She was a beautiful quilter. Many hours were spent making quilts that were given to enhance the lives of others. She also enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Dicy possessed a beautiful smile, a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She was noted for her "one-liners." As a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served devotedly in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde, a son who died in infancy, Kenneth, a granddaughter, Megan Sobczyn and each of her siblings. She is survived by one daughter, June Furner (Roger), two sons Glen (Elaine) and Dennis (Sharon), nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The loving care and concern of family, friends, the devoted staff and residents of the Cottages of Meridian and Legacy Hospice are greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday May 31 in the Boise North LDS Stake Center, 8620 Goddard Road, Boise. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. The Interment will be held 11 a.m. Saturday June 2 in the Bountiful City Cemetery, Bountiful Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, Idaho.
