Joyce Stearns of Charlestown, NH passed away January 1, 2019 at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT. Joyce was born in Hartland, VT on November 15, 1934, the daughter of Adelorde Ashline and Ruth (Murphy) Ashline.
She married Donald Stearns on February 17, 1951. They were married 55 years. Donald predeceased her in March 2006.
Joyce enjoyed spending times with family, watching birds at her feeders, shopping and was an avid reader. She loved her Kindle.
She retired from Goodyear, Tambrands, and Whelen.
Family includes: two daughters, Donna Lewis, Windsor, VT, and Vickie L. Jones, Charlestown, one son, Donald Stearns Jr. (wife Stella), Charlestown; four grandchildren, Artie Lewis (wife Sarah) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jennifer Stearns of Pennsylvania, and Joanne Madeja (husband Bob) of Celina, TX. She had eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, George Asline and Frank Ashline, Hartland, VT; three sisters, Betty Beland and Jean Ashline, Hartland, VT, and Rachel Lynds, Port Charlotte, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandson Paul Jones and brother Lorry Ashline.
There will be no service.
