Wanda Mae Morris, 70, Sterling and formerly of Lindale, Texas died early Sunday morning at her home.

Born Tuesday November 23, 1948 in Mason City, Iowa she was the daughter of the late Harry Wayne and Iva Wise Flynn. Wanda graduated from Mason City High School in 1967. With an adventurous soul and ready to set the world on fire she traveled by Continental Trailway bus to Denton, Texas where she attended Texas Women's University graduating in 1971 with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation Psychology/Sociology. Wanda spent her professional career working with children and youth for about 15 years with MHMR /Andrew Center as family services coordinator specializing in early childhood intervention. She then worked at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas serving as a maternal child social worker for 20 years. Wanda leaves a work legacy in which she impacted many lives for good. So often people would say " I cannot tell you what Wanda meant to me."

Wanda was a founding mother for the Children's Park in Tyler.

She was a long-time, active and beloved member of Friendly Baptist Church in Tyler where she served as Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.

Wanda retired in 2015 and moved to Pennsylvania to be a near grandma and was able to attend the numerous activities of her granddaughters. While in Pennsylvania she supported the Boys and Girls Club in Scranton by volunteering with various fund raising events.
