Ronald W. George, 90, of Sandwich passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich.

He was born September 27, 1928 in Joliet, IL, the son of Milton and Alice (Eaton) George. He married Carol E. Kelm on February 20, 1954 in Lemont, IL.

Ronnie was a charter member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Plainfield, IL. He was a life-time farmer. Ronnie loved gardening, he especially loved his gladiolus. He also enjoyed model airplanes and liked looking at antique airplanes. Most of all, Ronnie loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Sandwich, IL; his children, Barb (Bob) Voigts of Naperville, IL, Caron (Dave) Stillmunkes of Yorkville, IL, and Cathy Hatland of Newark, IL; eight grandchildren, Allie (Kit) Miner, Joseph (Allison) Voigts, Ian (Christina) Voigts, Benjamen Stillmunkes, Emma (Bill Paetzold) Miller, David (Kerry) Stillmunkes, Brian (Erika) Stillmunkes, and Tim Stillmunkes; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Alice Lambert of Plainfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Brian Corredato, and one great grandson, Westin Voigts.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, with Rev. Steve Good officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the funeral home in Somonauk.
