Ray Leroy Karns Sr., 91, of New Concord, Ohio, formerly of Clarion, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born on May 10, 1927 in Oil City; son of the late Clyde Arunah William Karns and Gladys Birchfield Canipe. Ray married Louise Ann Harvey on February 19, 1948, and she preceded him in death.

Ray was a member of the New Hope Full Gospel Church in Zanesville, Ohio and the First Baptist Church in Clarion.

Ray is survived by his children: Kathryn Ann Puskar, Alfred John Karns and his husband Stephen Robert Rinck, Ray Leroy Karns Jr. and his wife Debbie Lynn (Grover), Beth Anne Moore and her husband Philip Edward, James Harvey Karns and his wife Joy Carroll (Davidson), David Ross Karns, Debra Ann (Smith) Spatara and her husband Frank, and Jeffrey Wayne Smith; grandchildren: Joe, Jeff, Jana, Ray Jr., Lauren, Cameron, Alexandra, Arin, Philip Jr., Tori, Liz, Sarah, Noah, Abby, Tommy, Jerod, Jeffrey, and Dylan; great grandchildren: Codi, West, Aubrey, Molly, Grant, Jayden, and Hannah; and siblings: James Morrison Karns and Barbara Ann Karns.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ray was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Rae Karns, son-in-law Joseph Nicholas Puskar, great grandson Kaiden Edward Moore, and siblings: Dorothy Mae Forbes, Donald Eugene Karns, Patricia Jean Massicci, David William Karns, and John Michael Karns.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Clarion. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church with Rev. Jason Hunter presiding. Interment will be held in the Clarion Cemetery.
