His funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chenoa with Pastor Jeremy Latzke officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Chenoa VFW. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 am Monday also at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Erdman was born November 1, 1930 in Chenoa the son of William C. and Etta Louise Schwager Erdman. They precede him in death. He married Dorothy Buckler on November 4, 1956 in Cullom. She survives in Pontiac.
Other survivors include their children, Michael Erdman, Colfax, Daniel Erdman, Springfield, Debbie (Allen) Thomason, Evanston, WY, and Thomas (Kim) Erdman, Lovington, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
His is preceded in death by three brothers, Verne, Myron and Dale Erdman and an infant sister, Louise Erdman.
Mr. Erdman was a 1947 graduate of Chenoa High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War obtaining the rank of Corporal. After the service he continued to serve in the Army reserves until 1962. He loved the cattle industry and was a lifelong livestock farmer whose life’s dream to be a cattleman was fulfilled. He was involved in the McLean County cattle feeder’s association and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chenoa.
