Edwin Knoll, 89, was a Spanish War Veteran, former Village of Catskill trustee and retired businessman. Knoll moved to Catskill with his parents when he was two years old. He was associated with his father and two brothers in the tobacco, cigar manufacturing and candy business.
He served 15 years with the 16th Separate Company Natinal Guard of Catskill as first sergeant and was a member of Citizens Hose Co., No. 5. He was also active in Masonic Circles.
He is survived by three daughters Mrs. Francis R. Platz of Coxsackie, Mrs. Milton Mabee and Mrs. John Boscherini both of Scotia; a sister Mrs. Perry Banks of Catskill; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His wife, the former Charlotte Moore died over a year ago.
