Funeral services were held today for George A. Beattie of 108 Elm Street, former manager of the Kennedy All-Stars baseball team, who died Friday in the Yonkers General Hospital after an extended illness. A requiem mass was offered at the Holy Eucharist Church. He had been in the employ of the Dellwood Dairy Company for 10 years. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Beattie of Yonkers, he married the former Miss Marie Farmer 20 years ago In this city. Besides his widow, he is survived by five sons, George, Joseph, Jack, Richard and Donald Beattie [1934-2004]; a daughter, Miss Marie Beattie; a brother, William Beattie, and three sisters, Mrs. George Forsyth, Mrs. Fred Hooper, and Mrs. Harry Forsyth. All the survivors reside in Yonkers except Mrs. Harry Forsyth, who is of Buffalo, Wyo.
