Robert Wendell Ellison, 91, passed away peacefully the morning of January 26, 2019 in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Bob was born on November 14, 1927, in Lake City, Illinois, the son of Walter and Effie Mae Honn Ellison. He married the love of his life, Flossie Alcorn, on October 14, 1949. They celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage before she passed away in 2017.

Bob was always proud of a hard-day’s work; he worked as a Sales Manager for Progress Industries in Arthur for many years. Additionally, Bob was mayor of Arthur from 1973-75 and was a life member of the Arthur Masonic Lodge #825. He and his family enjoyed many fun-filled happy years in Arthur. Eventually he relocated his family to Columbus, Ohio, to run C.H. Bradshaw. Upon his retirement, Bob refused to slow down, moving throughout the United States and enjoying his final days in South Carolina with the sunshine and warm weather. He loved to spend time with family, laugh with friends, travel the world, and play golf. He will be truly missed by many.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Effie Mae Ellison; his wife, Flossie Ellison; his siblings, Mae Aikman, Ruth Daily Aikman, Ralph, Guy, Floyd, Warren, and Clifford Ellison, Betty Zellers Belt; and his granddaughter, Molly Ulmer. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Greg) Cribbet, Diane Ellison, Leann (Dave) Ulmer; grandchildren, Matt Cribbet (Jenny Cundiff), Tim Cribbet, Elizabeth (Andrew) Page, Meredith Ulmer (Andrew Pea); great grandchildren, Anderson Robert Pea, and Emma Grace Cundiff Cribbet.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur with Pastor Bob Silvanik officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Vine Street Christian Church, 249 S. Vine Street, Arthur, IL 61911.
