Dean Murdock ASHEBORO Mr. Aaron Dean Murdock, 79, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at The Randolph Hospice House, after a valiant struggle with ALS. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Ryman officiating. Dean was born in Troutman, Oct. 6, 1934. He was the son of the late Herbert Alexander Murdock and Lucille Eleanor Bowie Murdock. He was a graduate of Troutman High and then Lenoir-Rhyne University. After college, Dean joined the USMC and served four years active duty, then joined the USMC-Reserves. After many faithful years in the Reserves, he obtained the rank of Lt. Colonel. Dean was also a retiree of Energizer, where he worked 35 years. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Murdock; and sister, Sara Murdock Williams. Dean is survived by his wife, Marjorie Conrad Murdock; daughter, Deanna Murdock Fuller and husband, Hank, of Mt Pleasant S.C.; sons, Keith Murdock, of Charlotte and Robert Murdock, of Mt. Pleasant S.C.; daughter, Leslie Murdock Smith and husband, Jay, of Asheboro; and grandchildren, Corbin Fuller, Samuel Fuller, Baily Murdock, Erin Murdock, Sullivan Murdock, Olivia Smith and Edwin Dean Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheila Murdock Rudasill and husband, Robert, of Troutman; sister-in-law, Norma Dean Murdock; brother-in-law, Charles Williams; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 S.
