Elvis Leit Wilson of Valley, AL went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2007. He was born to Floyd Wilson and Ellie Smith (both deceased) on December 14, 1928 in Wedowee, AL. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Westpoint, GA and attended Emanuel Baptist Church in Valley, AL.
A Korean War veteran, Elvis retired after twenty years as a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer ATC in aviation electronics.
He is survived by his wife—Shirley; daughter—Cynthia; and son—Jimmy (wife Lynn). Other survivors are his sisters and brothers—Imogene Murphy and Geneva (Stan) Roberts of Ozark, AL; Nell (Grady) Hamil of Augustus, GA; Betty Hopper of Huntsville, AL; Josephine (Leon) Jerkins of Ft. Pierce, FL; Charlene (Bobby) Riddle of Opelika, AL; Helen (David) Hamil of Burton, South Carolina; Wayne (Wilma) Wilson and Edward (Wilma) Wilson of Pisgah, AL. Survivors in Milton are his mother-in-law—Louise Walther, two sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial took place Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Crain Cemetery in Milton. Pallbearers were Mike Fissel, Bill Phillips, Kristopher Howington, Casey Howington, Phillip Howington, and Wesley Breland.
