Miss Sarah Thankful Hill was born about December 1870 in Tennessee, and she was the daughter of John Neely Hill (1846–1909) and his wife Amanda Jane "Mandy" (Summers) Hill (1849–1925).
She had been living in McMinnville in Warren County, but about 1918 she became a patient at Nashville's Central State Hospital, and she was 77 years old when she died September 20, 1947. Burial was three days later in Cherry Cemetery in Cannon County.
