Chuck was the son of KU sports legend Charles Monroe Hoag and Donna Carter Hoag.
He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1980 and was a letterman in football, basketball, and track. He attended the University of Kansas. While at KU, he was a letterman in football and was a part of the 1981 Hall of Fame Bowl football team.
Chuck was an Operations Manager and worked for Black Hills Energy in Lawrence, KS for 30+ years.
He was married to Lisa Kay Mumford, the mother of their four children, on January 2, 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Chase, and wife, Caroline, Austin Hoag, two daughters, Taylor and Courtney; three sisters, Cheryl and husband, Rick, Karen and husband, Dave, Deanna and husband Duane and his mother, Donna. Survivors also include two grandchildren, Solon and Eowyn and 10 nieces and nephews.
