Memorial contributions to the Tuberculois and Respiratory Disease Foundation, to be left at the funeral home, will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel; a son, Lawrence of Reasnor; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Doris) Engle of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Norman (Mary) Van Zante of Pella, and Mrs. Alan (Lois) Williams of Prairie City; two step-daughters, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Cupples of Monroe and Mrs. Orland (Ann) Huyser of Pella; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Hoyt Woody and Horace Woody, both of Reasnor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Esther Johnson Woody in 1965; a son Duane; a grandson, Jeffery Engle; and three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Agnes) Lust, Mrs. Ernest (Blanche) Burbridge and Mrs. Afton (Zola) Winn.
Mr. Woody was a member of the Woodmen of America Lodge.
The son of Henry and Ella Broderson Woody, he was born Aug. 2, 1902 in Jasper County.
He was married to Ethel Kaldenberg Tyrell Dec. 20, 1966 at Monroe.
Mr. Woody farmed in the Sully and Reasnor communities prior to his retirement in 1964.
He died Thursday morning at Skiff Memorial Hospital.
