She was born May 13, 1918 in Retsof the daughter of Niles and Elizabeth Slane Johnson. She was a retired member of the housekeeping staff at SUNY Geneseo. She was predeceased by her daughter, Virginia Johnson in 1983.
She is survived by her lifetime companion, Bill Sickles of Retsof; two daughters, Betty (Donald) Barber of Pavilion and Janet (Paul Conley) Burdett of Batavia; a son, Chester Babbit (Phyllis) Ashby, Jr. of Dansville; son-in-law Bill Johnson of LeRoy; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eilene Emo of Mt. Morris, Dorothy Beals of Geneseo; a brother, Jim Johnson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held Tuesday at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in Geneseo where funeral services were held Wednesday. Rev. Dennis Swartz of the Church of the Nazarene, Springwater, officiated. Burial, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York.
