On February 9, 1933 Floyd was united in marriage to Irene Bertha Dowell in South Coffeeville, OK. Irene preceded him in death on March 8, 1994.
Floyd lived many years in Winfield, KS and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita for 25 years, retiring in 1965. He lived on a farm near El Dorado Springs for several years before moving to town in 1979.
Floyd was also preceded in death by his two sons, Floyd E. Jirrels, Jr. and H. Deane Jirrels.
Survivors include his two daughters, Gayle Grantham of Escondido, CA, and Sondra O'Connor of Plattsburg; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 25 at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.
Donations may be sent to the Plattsburg Senior Center.
