He was first hired in 1978 as an Assistant for ice sports at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. He went on to be appointed Venue Manager of the Sheffield Speed Skating Oval for the Olympic Games. Later he was hired as Director of Operations of the Olympic Center by the Town of North Elba. Later he become the Director of Events for ORDA and was promoted to General Manager of the Olympic Center.

Over the years he was involved in many national and international figure skating, ice hockey, and speed skating events as well as, numerous concerts and conventions. During the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Games he served as a consultant and field of play supervisor, overseeing ice preparations for both short track speed skating and figure skating.

He was also active in the Lake Placid ice hockey program and coached the U6 hockey program for Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association, been an ECAC referee and linesman, and has been a part of the National Ice Hockey Officials Association.

Denny loved walking his dogs, hiking, kayaking, and traveling. But most of all he loved life and his family.

Predeceased by his parents

Survived by his wife; his daughter and her husband; his 2 granddaughters; 3 stepchildren; 2 sisters and their husbands; one brother; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
