Jessie (Justina) Kupczyk of Dauphin, Manitoba passed away in the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, February 8,1987 at the age of 78 years. Jessie Olinyk was born in Sclater, Manitoba. Following her marriage to Elias Kupczyk in 1925 at Sclater, she resided at various points throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan until retiring to Sifton in 1963. In 1984 she moved to Dauphin and resided at the Happy Haven senior citizen’s residence until present time. She was a member of Dauphin St. George’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church and was active in church affairs all her life. She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Ann Olinyk; daughter Olga, sister Nellie and three brothers Mike, Peter and John. Besides her devoted husband Elias, she leaves to cherish her memory her loving son William and wife Marion of Abbotsford, B.C.; daughter Irene and husband Jack Reinbold, North Battleford, Sask.; four grandchildren Gordon (Diane) Kupczyk of Sicamous, B.C., Bill (Sandi) Kupczyk of Regina, Sask., Linda (Vern) Berteh of Salvador, Sask., and Shelley Lomanda of Calgary; seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Kupczyk, Jr. Gordon Kupczyk, VemBertch, Stanley Saramaga, Fred Yurkiw and Metro Todoruk. Very Rev. I. Trufyn officiated at the funeral service held on Saturday, February 14, 1987 in the Dauphin St. George’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church. Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery.
