Son of Peter DeWeese (1781-1849) and Jamima Terry (b. ca. 1780) of Virginia - there are no burial data for his direct line ancestors; married to Sarah Guest 9 October 1836 in Laconia, Harrison county, IN; removed with parents to Grayson County, KY about 1812; owned 57 acres on Nolin Creek there in 1830; removed to Harrison Co., IN by 1834; purchased lots in Laconia in 1839 and 1840; in Boone township there in 1840; justice of the peace there; removed to Mauckport 1855 where he purchased lots in 1858 and 1859; Treasurer of Harrison Co. 1855-57; changed church affiliation 1860; removed to Wamego KS to live with sons Samuel and Lincoln in late 1870's, with sons John and William living nearby there; was oldest master Mason in the area at time of his death.
