Besides both parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Glenn Ricky Adams; three sisters, Joyce Kolpp, Julene Weddington and Joann Stratton.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Dorothea Adams of Pikeville, KY; two daughters, Billie Jo Adams and her husband, Garry of Pikeville, KY and Paula Jean Muncy and her husband, Greg of Mount Juliet, TN; one son, Robert Tate Adams and his wife, Kathryn of Owingsville, KY. six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; four sisters, Patty Lorentz, Lois Wadhams, Gladys King, and Garnett Moore; daughter-in-law, Renee Gannon Adams.
Robert served his country proudly as a United States Marine; he wore the title Veteran with great dignity. He was a dedicated member to the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church and was a deacon for many years. Robert was a cherished father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend.
Family will accept friends at the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 6 P.M. and Wednesday, February 6, 2019 with services beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Estill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery of Pikeville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators and Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church.
