One of many children of early Ohio pioneers, Edward Hall & Sarah McClure.
-He served three 3 month stints in the Civil War with the Ohio Volunteer Infantry;
-enlisted on 4/22/1861,mustered to Co. G 16th Infantry OVI
-enlisted on 9/7/1861, mustered to Co. F 19th Infantry OVI
-enlisted on 5/2/1864, mustered to Co. I 166th Infantry OVI
(National Guards).Discharged in DC 1864.

He fathered a total of 14 children with his last one being born when he was 77 yrs old! He lived in several states including Ohio, Kansas, Indiana, and lastly, Michigan. His farm in Kansas was many acres of fruit trees and crops that were irrigated by pump housed he and other prominent farmers helped build. His time in Kansas saw him elected a Finney County Commissioner at least 3 different times and he also was a member and officer in the Grand Army of the Republic. EL and his visiting brother Andrew also helped in the Border War between Kansas and Missouri after the Civil War.
