Bacot was born on August 12, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to the now late William and Joyce Bacot. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1974.
She moved to Apalachicola in the mid-1980s, and worked in the hospitality industry. Renee was a talented chef and baker, appreciated for her cooking. She lived life faithfully as a giving and generous person, with her arms open to all who she knew and loved, including the many cats she doted upon.
She is survived by two sisters, Angela Bacot Dransfield (Mike), of Sydney, Australia, and Regina Hoyns (Dirk), of Jackson, Georgia; and brother William Bacot, of Knotts Island, North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service is being planned, to be held in Apalachicola in the near future
