Sid was born in the old St. Charles Hospitial in Bend, Oregon on Feb 19, 1957.

When Sid was almost two years old, they moved to a farm in Tumalo Oregon. They had Cattle, Milk Cows, Horses, Chickens. He enjoyed a pretty carefree childhood living out in the country. Hunting, Riding Horses all over the local country, then graduating to motorcycles. Sid attended Tumalo School from grade 1 through 7. But in the 8th grade the Tumalo kids had to be bussed to the big city of Redmond to attend John Tuck Jr. High. So on the very first day of the 8th grade, In Sept of 1970, at John Tuck Jr. High School, when he was 13 years old, he met Erin Brown. Although she was not impressed or interested, but, by the end of the school year, he had won her over.
They dated all through High School, and got married after Sid had been in the Navy for a year. They were married in Charleston SC on March 18th 1975.
Sid had joined the US Navy just near the end of the Vietnam War in March of 1974. He vilunteered for submarine duty and spent 5 years on the nuclear Submarine USS Tecumseh SSBN 628, out of Holy Loch Scotland.
He went on 4 deterent patrols in the North Atlantic, crossed the Arctic Circle and became a blue nose. He took the boat thru an Orse and a Daso, shooting two missiles off the coast of Africa, down the southern missile range. He then brought the boat back to the US in the fall of 1977, did some spec ops out of Port Canaveral, and then spent the last year and a half taking the boat through overhaul at the submarine base at Portsmouth, NH.
This ship was commission from 1964 to 1993, and the starboard two torpedo tubes are in the US Navy Underwater Museum in Keyport, Washington.
After getting out of the Navy, in 1979, Sid went to work for Varian Medical Systems working on Cancer Therapy Equipment, specifically High Energy Electron Linear Accelerators. First in the factory in Palo Alto, California, for 5 years, as a Test Technician in the Final Test Dept, and since 1984 as a Senior Field Service Engineer, in Dallas Oregon. Servicing the machines in most of the Cancer Centers in Oregon, and throughout the Northern and Western Canada.
Sid and Erin had 4 Children.
