Apr. 30, 1898 issue of Petersburg Observer: Died - At her home in Greenview, Sunday, February 6, 1898, Mrs. Mary Jane Lukins, aged 58 years, 1 month and 5 days. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. J. G. Blake, and the remains were taken to Sweetwater and interred in Sugar Grove cemetery. Deceased was well-known in this county, and was highly respected. She was a widow and leaves four children and numerous other relatives to mourn her death. She had been a sufferer for several months previous to her death.
