Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Blake of West Dennis received telegrams last Friday notifying them of the serious illness from pneumonia and subsequent death of their son, Lieutenant Commander Ralph S. Blake. Lieutenant Commander Blake visited his parents two weeks ago while on a four-days leave before going to Miami, Florida, where he was to be stationed for three months. Transferred from the Merchant Marine to the Navy before the start of the war. He was on Pacific duty at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack. He had participated in 15 major engagements in the Pacific with the airplane carrier Enterprise, and came to this country for rest and further instruction on newest devices.
