Kosciusko Pastor Dies At His Home
Kosciusko, Sept. 27
Rev. E. M. Allen, member of the North Mississippi Conference, died at his home in Sallis. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. L. P. Wasson, officiating. Burial was in Wiggins Cemetery.
The Rev. Mr. Allen was born in Kosciusko, January 30, 1880 and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos T. Allen. He received his education at Millsaps College and on September 1917, he joined the Mississippi Conference. He was transferred to the North Mississippi Conference in 1936 and served as pastor of the Methodist Churches at Chester, Potts Camp, Tishomingo, Sallis and a number of other churches in the Conference.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Allen, he leaves the following children: Sergeant Walter L. Allen, Keesler Field. Biloxi, Miss.; Lieutenant Edward M. Allen Jr.; U.S. Navy, Athens, Georgia; Mrs. R. W. Bond, Sallis; Hays Allen, Sallis; 3 sisters, Mrs. Sallie Bell, Mrs. Eugenia Standard and Mrs. Rosa Lewis, Kosciusko; 2 brothers, E. B. Allen, Jackson, Miss.; A. S. Allen, Kosciusko and one grandson, David A. Bond of Sallis.
