WILEY PLUNKIETT DIES EARLY TODAY
SON OF PIONEER BENTON COUNTY
PARENTS WAS BORN IN KINGS VALLEY
Wiley Plunkett, late of 622 north Twenty-Ninth street, passed away at 2 o'clock
this morning at the family home, following an illness of two days.
Mr. Plunkett was born February 17, 1867, at Kings Valley, Benton County, and was
the son of James and Ashna Plunkett, members of a pioneer family of this section
of Oregon. For the past 17 years, he had made his home in Corvallis after
spending his earlier years in Western Benton county. He was aged 67 years.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Rose Mae Plunkett; a daughter, Mrs. W. R. Price of
Philomath; and one son, J. A. Plunkett of Portland. Two other children died in
infancy. There are four brothers and two sisters, Ed Plunkett of Summit; Frank
of Philomath; Garfield, of Hoskins; Henry, of Kings Valley; Mrs. J. A. Thompson,
Blodgett, and Mrs. J. A. Bottger, Summit. There are also four grandchildren.
Mr. Plunkett was a member of the W.O.W., Neighbors of Woodcraft lodge of
Philomath, and the Odd Fellows lodge of Kings Valley. The funeral service will
be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the drawing room of the Hollingsworth
Funeral Home. Interment will be in the family plot in the Kings Valley
cemetery.
