Myrtle Laura Whitehurst Banks, 81, of the 2800 block of Forehand Drive, passed away May 31, 2007, in a Chesapeake hospital. She was a native of Norfolk and the widow of Robert L. Banks. She was a founding member of Rock Church. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Robinette Rogers and husband Doug of Virginia Beach; her granddaughter, Mary Delnore Dye and husband Christopher of New York City; and her grandson, Victor Abraham Delnore and wife Allyson of Milwaukee, Wis. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Eli James Delmore of Milwaukee; and her sister, Agnes Robinette of Minneapolis, Minn. The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com. She will be lovingly remembered for her open and giving heart, devotion to God and all of his creatures and her joyful adventurous spirit.
