Myrtle Ellen Guilfoil, 86, of Eskridge died on February 20, 1995 at a nursing home in Topeka. She was born on January 2, 1909 in Berryville, Arkansas, the daughter of Ray Elsworth and Beulah Alta (Smith) Applegate. She moved to Kansas when she was 16 and had worked most of her life as a health care provider in her home. She married Lewis Richmond in 1925 and Clarence Griffith in 1945. Both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Wood; her son, Carl Ray Richmond; and her brother, Chester Boyd Applegate. She married Russell Guilfoil on June 6, 1975 in Miami, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, Russell; her daughter, Betty Cunningham of Shawnee; her sisters, Faye Osborn and Wanda Maxine Colberg, both of Mannford, Oklahoma; half sister, Vella Claudine West; her brothers, Joe Clifford Applegate and Lonnie Dale "Skeet" Applegate, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lester Clell Applegate of Mannford, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Applegate of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Eskridge Southern Baptist Church. Interment will be in Eskridge Cemetery under the direction of Crable Funeral Chapel.
