(Marriage to Thurlo Ashton, 29 April 1940): A wedding of interest to many Oxnard CA residents was solemnized in San Buenaventura Mission, Monday, at 12:30 p. rn., when Miss Bertha Mae (Bonnie) Rosamond, daughter of Mrs. Mary Rosamond of Ventura, became the bride of Thurlo Ashton, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Ashton of Whittier. Rev. Father Daniel Hurley officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her cousin, Harold Kelly, and was beautifully gowned in white crepe, the wedding dress her mother. She wore a veil and carried larkspur. Guests Entertained at her home on Vineyard avenue, Miss Nazarine Donlon entertained as her weekend guests, Mr. and Mrs. John Cronin. Airs. Harvey Dickerson and Martin Montighetti, all of San Francisco: Miss Helen Cronin and Miss Betty Sullivan of Beverly Hills; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Erring of of Van Nuys, brother-in-law and sister of the hostess made for her by wore a fingertip a muff of white led by an orchid. Miss June Rosamond, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Charles Sanders of Whittier served as best man. Ushers were E. I. Robinson and Lew Avers. Following the rites, a reception was given at the bride's home and later the newlyweds left by motor on their honeymoon trip to Northern California. They will make their home in Ventura, California. The new Mrs. Ashton is well-known in Oxnard, having become acquainted with numerous of this city’s younger set while attending the Ventura Junior College.
