Mary Rebecca "Becky" Angel Ernest, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at her residence. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Methodist Church in Greensboro. A church reception will follow the memorial service in the Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Becky was born on May 15, 1942, in Stokes County to the late William Roy and Evelyn Morgan Angel. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Methodist Church and the Page Sunday School Class. Becky was also a member of Circle 2 where she received the UMM Special Membership Pin in 2004. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Becky joined Beta Sigma Phi in March 1967, was an active member of NC Preceptor Beta Zeta Chapter, and currently held the Master Degree. Becky was devoted in life and to her chapter. She held all offices of the chapter, was crowned Valentine Queen and received the Woman of the Year Award numerous times. Beta Sigma Phi was blessed by her gift of a true and generous spirit. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by an infant daughter and her sister, Melvine Adams. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 45 years, Charles "Chuck" Ernest; daughter, Gayle Moore; sisters, Ernestine Beal and Maxine Cole (Tommy); grandchildren, William Bryan Thompson (Teresa), Tamara Nicole Andrews (Chris), Christopher Steven Wright, and Bailey Abigayle Wright; great-grandchildren, Caroline Andrews, Samantha Thompson, and Scarlett Arnold; and other extended family and friends.
