Mrs. Mary Hopkins Dewey, mother of Bradley Dewey, president of the Dewey and Almy Chemical Company, and widow of the late Prof. Davis R. Dewey of M.I.T,. died yesterday at her home on Memorial Drive Cambridge. Mrs. Dewey pioneered many of the laws for' the protection of women and children in industry and was a member Of the State Board of Labor and Industry during the first four terms of its existence. She was prominent in the work for woman suffrage, the organization of day nurseries, reform of penal institutions for women and children.
