John W. Ward
John W. Ward, 74, of 220 Wellington St., S. W., drygoods salesman, died in a private hospital Friday night as the result of a skull fracture received in a bathtub fall.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Methodist Church. The Rev. L. B. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in College Park Cemetery.
Born in Troup County, Mr. Ward attended Troup High School and came to Atlanta as a young man, first working here as a salesman for John L. Silvey Company, wholesale drygoods firm. At his death, he was connected with P. F. Hollander & Company, umbrella manufacturers.
Mr. Ward, a member of Calvary Methodist Church, was a Sunday School teacher and a member of Rice Leaders of the World.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, John W. Ward, Jr., of Atlanta, and Bowden W. Ward, of Richmond, Va., and four grandchildren.
