C.R. (Bob) Lock, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at age 91, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

Bob was the youngest of nine children, born in Marshall, Missouri on July 22, 1927, to Joseph and Marie (Roethli) Lock. His family moved to Carrollton in 1933. At the age of 17, he enrolled in the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific, Japan, and China. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and joined his brothers in creating Lock Steel Building Company, the oldest continuing steel building company in the world.

He married Shirley Wilson in 1950, and to this union, five children were born: Teresa Louise (George) Henke, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Lock (Ian Scott Parker), Jane (Rich) Ramsey, James Joseph (Cherri) Lock, and Melissa Marie Straw (deceased). Shirley passed away in 1981.

Bob married Mary Ann Witthaus in 1985. Mary and her deceased husband, Charles Witthaus were blessed with five children: Karen Ann (Timothy) O'Brien, Charles T. Witthaus, James B. (Marlene) Witthaus, William C. (Christina) Witthaus, and Anne E. Jones (deceased).

He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 1773 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a First National Bank Board Member for more than twenty years, as well as serving as a board member for the Carrollton Country Club, the Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, Missouri, and was a founding member of H.E.L.P. Services. One of his proudest life achievements was organizing a drive to obtain financing for the construction of Carroll County Memorial Hospital. He was the last surviving member of the original founding team of Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Bob also served on the Missouri Hawthorn Foundation Board, focusing on economic development for Missouri. He traveled with Missouri Governor Kit Bond on a trade mission to China in 1983.

Bob and Mary have 17grandchildren: Sarah (Doug) Engel, Matthew (Sarah) Huff, John DuCrest, Wil (Darcy) DuCrest, Bradley Lock, Richard Lock, Matthew Straw, Margaret Straw, Megan (Craig) O'Boyle, Daniel (Leslie) O'Brien, Melissa (Tyler) O'Brien, Lindsey (Hakan) Yasarer, Christopher (Kaitlin) Witthaus, Anne Lee Witthaus, Alex Witthaus, Charles Jones, and Marina (Tyler) Jones Denney.

They have 16 great-grandchildren: Avery Engel, Sloane Engel, Preston DuCrest, Taylee DuCrest, Riley DuCrest, Paxton DuCrest, Connor O'Boyle, Audrey O'Boyle, Eleanor O'Brien, Evelyn O'Brien, Addison O'Brien, Jack O'Brien, Logan Denney, Fiona O'Boyle, Roy Lock, and Harry Lock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Father Ken Criqui officiating.

Rosary will be recited by Pat Calvert at 8:45 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri will full Military Honors provided by V.F.W. Post #1773 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, H.E.L.P. Services, or St. Mary's Parish. They may be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 223, Carrollton, Missouri, 64633.
