Vareda was a music teacher and a member of Mt. Zion Church of God. She gave free music lessons to the children of the local church because she know that music was important part of church. She attended the Susan Moore High and was the valedictorian of her graduating class in 1933. She loved poetry and love to write a poem for any special occasion that happened to arise.
She kept a journal of all the visits of her children's visits home and the trips that she and dad made to visit our homes..
She loved family history and in the 70's put together a book on the John J. Jackson family. It was an awesome task before computers and a lot of handwriting. She enjoyed it and passed that love to me. Not a day goes by that I wish she was here to share with me the many ways that we could find our ancestors and get excited together.
My mother was the best friend I ever had. We went fishing on Whip-O-Will creek when I was just a small girl. We went blackberry picking and she gave me a love for nature. As I grew older she taught me music. We loved to do things together. As a young girl mother would take us to church and taught us to be a part of church activities. Mother gave me the compassion for searching family ancestry. A Christian mother is the best treasure that I could ever have.
