C.L. was the son of Deacon M.C. Meadows and Jossie Mae Williams Meadows. He was educated in the Macon County School System. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was employed with the Macon County Board of Education as a Bus Driver, retiring in 2003. He served as secretary and treasurer of the Oglethorpe Funeral Home and a operator of the Meadow's Vault Company.
He was married to Marie English Meadows on April 15, 1961, they had 4 children. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Gloria Meadows and 1 brother, Jimmie Meadows.
