Lorraine Valenti Dinerstein
DECEMBER 24, 1925 – FEBRUARY 13, 2019

Lorraine Valenti Dinerstein, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, the 13th of February 2019, in Houston.
She was born to Josephine and Joe Valenti on the 24th of December 1925,in Houston Texas. Lorraine was a kind and gentle soul and family was most important to her. She was a lady of tireless energy and was active in many charities over the years, including Charity Guild of Catholic Women, San Jose Clinic, St Joseph Hospital, St Thomas High School, the National Foundation for Ileitis and Colitis, Donne Di Domani among many others. She was honored and awarded by too many to be named. Her faith was very important to her and she would even attend Spanish mass in Acapulco when enjoying time at their home there. Her abundance of friends meant so much to her, many she felt were like family. Lorraine was also known for her beautiful smile and loving nature. She will truly be missed.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted Dinerstein; her brother, Jack Valenti and his wife, Mary Margaret Valenti, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Tom Caltagirone and his wife, Lu; her son, Jack Caltagirone; her grandchildren, John Caltagirone and his wife, Jill; her granddaughter, Lauren Caltagirone; and her great granddaughters, Whitney and Brooke Caltagirone. Also by her niece, Courtenay Valenti and her husband, Pat Roberts, and their children ; niece, Alexandra Valenti and nephew, John Valenti, as well as her nephew, Jack Dinerstein and his wife, Nancy, and their children and grandchildren; her niece, Carol Frankel her husband, Jimmy, and their children and grandchildren; and her nephew, Steve Dinerstein his wife, Joanie, and their children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her caretaker and friend Albert Escobar along with the ladies who took such good care of her.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 18th of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will commence at half-past six o'clock.
The Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 19th of February, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston, where Rev. Wayne W. Wilkerson, Pastor, is to serve as celebrant.
The Rite of Committal will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed toward The American Heart Association, 10060 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77054; or to The American Cancer Society, 2500 Fondren Rd., Ste. 100, Houston, TX 77063; or to the charity of one's choice.
