Ralph E. Cleveland, 96, of Syracuse, NY died Friday February 15, 2019. Born in Cortland, NY, he has lived in the Syracuse area since 1953. He was employed at Carrier Corp. for 28 years before retiring in 1981. He received an associate's degree from the college of agriculture and life sciences at Cornell University. His previous wife, Phyllis Fuglestad died in 1981. She was the mother of his 4 children. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Lutheran. He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Fowler; Daughter, Sheila (Robert) Emborski; Sons, Russell (Peggy) Cleveland, Robert (Ginny) Cleveland, Dennis (Fred McFadden) Cleveland; 3 Step-Children, James, Jeffrey and Jeremy Fowler; 4 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Calling hours will take place on Friday, 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A service will follow at 7 PM. Burial to take place in Glenwood Cemetery of Homer, NY in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Canton Woods Senior Center, Baldwinsville, NY.
