Harold E. "Squirt" Bleuer was born Aug. 2, 1931, to Harold Smith Foster and Lillian Doris Berry Bleuer in Rock Island. He married Audrey J. Granger on March 15, 1951, in Alpha. He went to join his wife and Jesus his Savior on Feb. 16, 2019, at the Lynmoore Assisted Living and Memory Facility in Fort Pierce, Fla.
He was survived by children, Ann (Randy) Bowser of Florida, Mark (Susan) Bleuer of Texas, Susan (Randy) Parker of Colorado, Janet (Juan) Pacheco of Florida, Nicholus Bleuer of Illinois. He had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Audrey, of 66 years; son, Vern "Buster"; and great-grandson, Randy Bowser-Smith.
He graduated from Rock Island High School and attended some college courses. He joined the Navy for four years as a torpedoman. He proudly served as a Rock Island firefighter and EMT, retiring as a captain after 25 years.
He was a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club, Rock Island Lions Club, Masons, VFW, and Boy Scouts of America.
He really enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hunting, camping, playing cards and craft work. He lived with his wife Audrey for many years as Volunteer Rangers at Boy Scouts camps at Loud Thunder and Minneyata.
