Obituary
Carolyn Dolores Blount was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on February 8, 1939, to the late Julian Charles and the late Carolyn Amelia Blount. Since she and her mother shared their first name, the younger Carolyn soon became known as Dolores.

At the age of 3, Dolores moved to New York City when her parents migrated north in pursuit of prosperity and opportunity. The family settled in the historic Harlem district of Manhattan
where Dolores and her older brothers, the late Charles Leonard and the late Warren Larue Blount, attended school.

In her teenage years, Dolores had aspirations to become a professional dancer and took dance lessons for a short time. . Dolores’ dance aspirations were soon sidelined when she became a mother, eventually giving birth to five boys. In 1969, Dolores moved back to her hometown of Fitzgerald, Georgia to provide a more wholesome lifestyle for her sons.

On April 2, 1975, she married Eural Thomas Green, a union that lasted for 39 years. By occupation Dolores worked as a nursing home caregiver, most notably at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Additionally,she was an active member of Holsey Chapel CME Church and served on its Board of Ushers.

In addition to her parents and brothers, she is preceded in death by a son, George Van Blount.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Eural Thomas Green; 4 sons; 11 grandchildren: a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Last, but not least, she is survived by her loyal and loving dog, Beauty.
